It's snowing pretty good outside, which makes me wonder why roller derby -- one of the finest American indoors sports -- takes winters off. Last Saturday was the season finale for the Fo Co Girls Gone Derby. While the enterprise started in 2006, it really got jamming this year, finishing with two teams of brusin'-and-cruisin' ladies and a travel squad that holds its own with any other in Colorado. (Here at the Chronicle, we have a special soft spot for Iona Switchblade.)
The girls will apparently spend the winter healing and recruiting, but how about an ice derby out on the Old Town "squink"?
