Gov. Bill Ritter is scheduled to sign the Sunday liquor sales bill into law on … Monday. Senate Bill 82 was sponsored by Sen. Jennifer Veiga and Rep. Cheri Jahn. It will take effect July 1 and it allows Colorado to join 34 other states that permit Sunday alcohol sales at retail stores.The bill won't make getting drunk on the Fourth of July any easier, but it could enable some pretty wild and drunken Bastille Day celebrations.
The signing ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the West Foyer of the Capitol.
