July 6 will be a "wet" Sunday

Governor Bill Ritter had kept pretty mum about whether he would support or veto a bill to allow liquor sales on Sundays, but last evening he announced his position via press release:

Gov. Bill Ritter is scheduled to sign the Sunday liquor sales bill into law on … Monday. Senate Bill 82 was sponsored by Sen. Jennifer Veiga and Rep. Cheri Jahn. It will take effect July 1 and it allows Colorado to join 34 other states that permit Sunday alcohol sales at retail stores.

The signing ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the West Foyer of the Capitol.
The bill won't make getting drunk on the Fourth of July any easier, but it could enable some pretty wild and drunken Bastille Day celebrations.
