The news is true. Tom Tancredo has announced he will not run for reelection in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008.
"I've done everything I can do," he told the Denver Post.
(And if by "everything", he means introducing a slew of legislation that never went anywhere and managing to alienate Latinos, Muslims, Westerners, even his own party for five terms in office, he's probably right. Job well done, Congressman.)

Unfortunately, federal taxpayers aren't quite finished paying Tancredo's bills. He is continuing his presidential campaign, pending the outcome of early state primaries and caucuses. Stay tuned.
