Notorious Colorado cannibal Alferd Packer was supposedly chastised by a judge before his hanging for disproportionately feasting on Democrats. Packer's descendants could have a buffet in Larimer County these days, as the Dems are buzzing around with a flurry of activity in the next week. Here's a sample of presidential and local political events:

Tonight: Recently announced House District 49 candidate Lilias Jarding, who hopes to take down incumbent Republican Kevin Lundberg, will meet with voters at the T Bar Inn at 3803 W. Clevand Ave. in Wellington at 7pm.

Also tonight: Obama for America, Fort Collins office opening, 419 W. Oak St., 5:30-7:30pm.

Sat., January 12: Town Hall meeting with Democratic lawmakers, Sen. Bob Bacon, Rep. Randy Fischer and Rep. John Kefalas at the Coloradoan community room, 1300 Riverside Ave., 9:30-11:30 am.

Tue., January 15: Hillary Clinton caucus training, Harmony Library community room, 6-7:30 pm.

Also, Tue., January 15: House District 51 candidate Ken Bennett makes his campaign to challenger incumbent Republican Don Marostica official at Cipoletti's, 124 E. 4th St. in Loveland at 11 am and Johnny Carino's, 1455 Rocky Mountain Ave. in Loveland (Centerra) at 4 pm.
