Colorado Springs (my home for a long fourteen months), was once pimped by their chamber of commerce as America's Greatest Sanitarium. That past was recently dredged when a young woman died of TB in the city's Memorial Hospital, two blocks from my former abode and next door to the Olympic Training Center.
If only I'd known then. I would have heeded those Metallica lyrics.
